Over the Summer I enrolled at The Sarum Studio in Salisbury to get back to my roots and sculpt.
Here are some examples of my model heads that I sculpted out of clay on an armature from life. I used the sight size method and rotated the model while rotating my clay head. I then hollowed it out ready for firing.
I also worked on a piece based on a life model, who is also a friend of mine. She was incredible and took on a very hard and ambitious pose. As a result I was able to create an exciting classical sculpture of her, again, rotating her and my model simultaneously.
I will now cast her but haven’t yet decided which material to use. It should be bronze for her incredible effort and pose in the pursuit of art. Her classical sculpture will come back to my studio and I am ready to take on commissions for the future!
