This was a lovely commission of two actors’ grandchildren. They were both so different in character and appearance so I chose very contrasting poses and styles of drawing. It was done as a surprise for their parents, who were thrilled!
These three siblings were also done as a surprise gift for a mother from her very clever husband. He managed to get his mother to bring them for a secret visit to my studio in Wiltshire. He took photos of me at work, which he gave to her. Then she was able tons part of the process of discussing the pose etc. She was again very pleased with her surprise gift!
These border terriers were a joy to paint. They are mother and son Smartie & Hector. The younger dog sits behind his mother-the next generation. I was amazed how much the breed can vary and how an older dog of the same breed can look so much older. I loved the challenge of capturing this!
