These two drawings of two different boys are part of a gift idea for portrait drawings. Either as a gift idea or a keepsake for yourself. The idea is that the book would grow with your child and can be kept like an album and become a sort of legacy for that person. It also could be s series of drawings at one specific stage. I have also done a sketch books of animals, which is a lovely thing to have instead of one formal portrait. I felt inspired recently when looking at one of the beautiful sketch books of Augustus John. It is rather a dying art and yet such a wonderful way to look back at a person’s life.
The drawings are, of course, still loose, so there is still the option to frame one of any. Or hang them all together on a big wall. I love the idea of drawing a subject and seeing the change and then looking back over their development. I can also obviously do this retrospectively from lots of photographs. Drawings for life!
